Privacy Policy

Moove (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a moving companion app that helps you plan and organize your move. This policy explains what information we collect, how it’s used, and which third-party services process it on our behalf.

Information We Collect

When you use Moove, the following information may be collected:

• Account information — if you sign in, your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
• Move profile — details you enter about your move: origin and destination cities, move date, household size, home type, whether you’re renting or buying, and similar planning inputs.
• Task and checklist progress — which tasks you have completed, packed boxes, budget entries, and address-change progress.
• Chat messages — anything you send to Moo, our in-app AI moving assistant.
• Purchase status — whether you have unlocked the Moo Pass (a one-time in-app purchase).
• Device information — standard diagnostic information such as device model, iOS version, and crash reports, used to keep the app stable.

How We Use Your Information

• To build and update your personalized moving checklist.
• To answer your questions when you chat with Moo.
• To let you share your move with family or roommates (if you choose to invite them).
• To validate in-app purchases and restore access on new devices.
• To fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

Third-Party Services

Moove uses the following third-party services to run the app. Each service processes only the data described here and is subject to its own privacy policy.

• Firebase (Google) — stores your account, move profile, tasks, and shared-move data; handles sign-in; delivers crash and performance diagnostics.
• OpenAI — processes the messages you send to Moo so it can reply. Your chat messages are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate the response. We do not use your chats to train models.
• RevenueCat — processes App Store purchase receipts so we can grant your Moo Pass and restore it on new devices.
• Apple — processes payments for in-app purchases through the App Store; handles Sign in with Apple.

What Stays on Your Device

Documents you scan or upload into the Document Vault (leases, IDs, receipts, insurance) are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers or any third-party service.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not access your contacts, location, camera, or photo library without your explicit action.

In-App Purchases

Moove offers a single one-time in-app purchase called the Moo Pass. Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchase receipts are validated by RevenueCat on our behalf. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal.

Notifications

Moove may send you local notifications on your device to remind you of upcoming move milestones. You can turn these off in your device settings.

External Links

The app contains links to third-party websites (such as USPS, DMV, and IRS) for your convenience when updating your address. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing us at the address below. On deletion we remove your account and personal data from our systems, subject to a short retention window required for backups and legal compliance. Deleting the app from your device also removes local data such as Document Vault contents.

Children’s Privacy

Moove is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the top.
